Opening an account takes under ten minutes. Select "Open Account" in the navigation, choose your account type, complete our secure identity verification, and fund your account. You will receive confirmation by email immediately.
You will need a valid photo ID (passport or national identity card), proof of residence, and a linked external account or card for the initial funding. No minimum deposit is required for a current account.
Yes. You can hold several account types at once — for example a current account, a Mintbridge Reserve savings account, and an investment mandate — all managed from a single login in our app or on the web.
You can request closure in the app (Settings → Account → Close Account) or by contacting our team. Accounts must hold a zero balance before closure; any remaining funds are transferred to a linked external account.
Transfers between Mintbridge accounts are instant, around the clock. Domestic CHF payments settle same day via SIC. SEPA transfers to EUR accounts arrive within one business day, and international SWIFT payments typically arrive within one to three business days depending on the destination.
Default daily limits are CHF 25,000 for standard transfers, CHF 100,000 for domestic SIC payments, and CHF 50,000 for international SWIFT. These can be raised on request for verified clients. Larger transfers may require additional verification.
Internal transfers can be cancelled immediately if the funds have not yet been applied. Scheduled payments can be cancelled before the daily cut-off. Completed SWIFT payments cannot be cancelled once processed — contact support at once if you need to attempt a recall.
Eligible deposits are protected under the esisuisse scheme up to CHF 100,000 per client. In addition, Mintbridge maintains a zero-liability guarantee — if you are ever the victim of fraud, we cover the loss in full. Our platform is secured with 256-bit AES encryption, ISO 27001 certification, and continuous fraud monitoring.
Freeze your card immediately in the app (Card → Freeze Card) and contact our security team through the app or our 24/7 hotline. We will investigate and, if fraud is confirmed, restore your funds within one business day under our zero-liability guarantee.
Yes. Two-factor authentication is enabled by default on every account. You can choose an authenticator app (TOTP), SMS codes, or biometric authentication (Face ID / fingerprint). We recommend an authenticator app for the strongest protection.
Activate your card in the app (Cards → Activate Card) using the last four digits and your date of birth. Alternatively, any in-store PIN transaction will activate it automatically.
Yes. Your Mintbridge card works wherever Visa or Mastercard is accepted. We charge no foreign-transaction fees and apply the real interbank exchange rate with no markup. Add a travel note in the app (Cards → Travel Notification) before you leave to prevent temporary holds.
Clients can access shares and ETFs, bonds and government securities, discretionary and advisory mandates, and Swiss retirement savings (Pillar 3a and vested-benefits accounts). Investment products require a separate agreement and are not deposit-protected.

Mintbridge offers full accounts to Swiss residents and eligible EU/EEA residents. Clients elsewhere may open a Global relationship with a subset of features; availability varies by country. See the Learning Centre for the current eligibility list.
We use the interbank mid-market rate — the midpoint between buy and sell rates on global markets — with no markup. It is the same rate you see on Google or a currency exchange. Most banks add a two to three per cent margin; we do not.
Our standard current account has no monthly maintenance fee, and the Mintbridge Reserve savings account is free too. Premium tiers (Mintbridge Metal and Mintbridge Private) carry a monthly fee disclosed at sign-up, offset by benefits such as a dedicated banker, higher limits, and priority service.
We do not charge traditional overdraft fees. If your balance turns negative we notify you at once and give you 24 hours to restore it. With overdraft protection linked to a savings account, funds transfer automatically at no charge.
